In the Wild - Tigers

One lazy sunday, last March, I had been to the Bannerghata National Park. More than anything I wanted to see the Tigers in the open. Well, I got to see them in way that was beyond my expectations. There were ofcourse many other wild animals that I clicked. But somehow, watching the tigers remains fresh in my memory! I kinda remembered them when I was watching a program on the National Geographic channel about Tigers in Ranthambore. So decided to post this one rightaway.

I had clicked some pics in, what I call as, unorthodox angles. And am sharing some of those with you here. Here come the Tigers!

A Tiger - face to face

A Tiger crossing our path

Tiger hiding in the shadows

Lazying away in the afternoon sun

The same tiger as in the above pic. It just got up!

It's White!

Today's models should learn catwalking from this feline!

One of my favorite pics from this lot. No description required!

This one appeared to be counting the number of vehicles passing by... :-)

So, there you go. Let me know what you think of these...

Chamundeshwari Temple, Chamundi Hills, Mysore

I had been to Mysore just after the Dasara season and went around to a few places including the Chamundeshwari Temple. I reached the place in the evening just when the temple was about to close. It reopens later in the night. And till that time, I was just walking around the temple courtyard, absorbing the life and scenery around me.

Sunset as viewed from atop Chamundi Hills, Mysore.

It was just dusk when I reached and soon the night enveloped the place in its all pervading darkness. Dasara season brings out the best decorations in Mysore and probably, the decorations at the temple had not been taken off. And a little while before the temple reopened, they switched on the lights. The lit-up spectacle that presented itself before me was just too beautiful. And obviously, I had to capture it to posterity. What was clicked at that moment is what you see below.

Truly breathtaking, isn't it?

More experiments with lens...

It all happened in a moment. I just took a huge Papaya fruit and cut a thin slice of the rind near the stalk. The very moment my sight fell on the sliced part, I felt like it was nature's beauty that I am witnessing. Had to get my camera out and get it clicked immediately... :-)

Much like the above one! I was playing with the manual settings in my Canon Powershot G2 and looking at how aperture and focal distance keep varying the pictures. At one point, the frame looked like this. Before even I knew I wanted to click the picture, I had already clicked it.

Some pics are like that. Common place stuff in very common place occurences. But at a certain instant, they are really unique. Therefore the experiments... :-)

Trekman reports from Rajasthan

Trekman recently went to Rajasthan. It was a memorable experience, he says! I read his trek report and I can only agree to what he says. Amazing place, amazing people, amazing experience. If not anything, check out the brilliant pics on his blog!

Wishing Trekman many more great treks in future too!

Dancin' to the light

One of the most inspired pictures that I have taken. Something that remains etched in my memory. It was the suddenness of the moment and the opportunity that it created. And I could not avoid capturing it to posterity! Check this out...

Don't you think the bug is posing for the camera?
